VIASPACE Begins Sales and Distribution of Hephas Energy's Fuel Cell Test and Activation Systems

PASADENA, CA.-October 8, 2008-VIASPACE Inc. (OTCBB: VSPC), a company that transforms proven space and defense technologies from NASA and the Department of Defense into hardware and software solutions, announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Hephas Energy Co., Ltd. of Hsinchu City, Taiwan to distribute its line of fuel cell related products including its fuel cell test and activation system. The Hephas Energy system will be displayed by VIASPACE at the upcoming Fuel Cell Seminar to be held in Phoenix, AZ from October 27-29, 2008

Fuel Cell test stations that can test hydrogen, liquid and solid based fuel cells are an expanding portion of the $54 Billion clean energy market. Hephas Energy offers a complete line of sophisticated single and multi-channel fuel cell test stations and component products at attractive prices for fuel cell and automotive manufacturers in Japan, Southeast Asia and the United States. Hundreds of universities throughout the world are also engaged in fuel cell research, but must deal with the reality of limited budgets when it comes to equipment purchases.

VIASPACE CEO Carl Kukkonen stated, "We are very pleased with this new agreement, granting VIASPACE rights to distribute Hephas Energy's fuel cell equipment product line. Hephas Energy engages in the research, development, manufacture, and supply of fuel cell testing equipment and system application components in Asia. The company's products also include fuel cell stack and graphite plates, micro valves, fuel cell control units and tools, and fuel cell activation stations.
