VIASPACE RECEIVES BLANKET PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR AIMS SECURITY SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS
PASADENA, CA-January 08, 2008-VIASPACE Inc. (OTCBB: VSPC), a company commercializing proven technologies from NASA and the US Department of Defense, reported that it has received a new blanket purchase agreement from the Inter local Purchasing System (TIPS) and Texas-Arkansas Purchasing System (TAPS) for Security Surveillance Systems, Equipment, Supplies and Installation.
This is another new contract opportunity for VIASPACE Security, a wholly-owned VIASPACE subsidiary. VIASPACE Security is now eligible to sell the AIMS Security System, software and installation services to more than 1500 local, regional and state government authorities within the States of Texas and Arkansas. VIASPACE Security is an authorized re-seller of AIMS hardware and custom software using its exclusive license from Caltech to commercialize NASA's SHINE real-time inference engine technology for most major defense applications, homeland defense and maritime security.
AJ Abdallat, President of VIASPACE Security, commented: "We are delighted to be listed as a TIPS/TAPS contractor, which will allow us to shorten the procurement cycle and seek immediate awards of business within the States of Texas and Arkansas. There are several immediate opportunities where we believe that our sensor data fusion and SHINE inference engine technologies will play a key role in creating new surveillance solutions utilizing the AIMS hardware as a base platform system. "
Area security and surveillance systems are one of several major initiatives on the part of the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Defense. VIASPACE Security is targeting this growing $20+ Billion market, pursuing opportunities where real-time sensor fusion technology and its high speed inference engine can deliver substantial benefit.
About VIASPACE: Originally founded in 1998 with the objective of transforming proven space and defense technologies from NASA and the Department of Defense into hardware and software solutions that solve today's complex problems, VIASPACE benefits from important patent and software licenses from Caltech, which manages NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
